Bezzecchi and Raul Fernandez battle it out for the victory
Trackhouse Aprilia’s Raul Fernandez was on pole position, Marc Marquez started from fourth place, championship rival Jorge Martin started from fifth place.
Fernandez got the holeshot into turn one, all riders were through cleanly! Fernandez was leading from Marco Bezzecchi, Marc Marquez was in third place, with yesterday’s sprint podium finisher Fabio Di Giannantonio in fourth place.
Disaster for Gresini’s Fermin Aldeguer as he crashed out at turn 16 from fourth, Martin was on the move passing Marc for third place and was the fastest rider on track.
After five laps Fernandez and Bez were still leading the way at the front, Pedro Acosta was making waves getting into fifth place.
Jack Miller crashed out at turn two and three on lap six, Pecco Bagnaia also crashed out a lap later at turn 17. Toprak Razgatlioglu entered the pits and retired from the race, the Yamaha rider was suffering from a shoulder injury.
By lap 12 Bez was closing in on Fernandez, Acosta passed Marc Marquez for fourth place, Martin was still running in third place. Acosta had a tyre pressure warning and had to let Marc past, giving up the fourth place, Marc then looked to have let Acosta back passed him and was now in fifth place.
Bezzecchi made his move for first place at turn one on lap 19, slipstreaming Fernandez and the Trackhouse Aprilia rider also ran wide at turn one.
Marc was now coming under pressure from Ai Ogura with six laps remaining to the race. Ogura made the move at turn 16, next on the Trackhouse rider’s list was Acosta!
Bezzecchi was stretching out his lead from Fernandez. Ogura made his move to pass the KTM of Acosta, the two battled it out but Ai got hold of the fourth place.
Bezzecci crossed the finish line, Fernandez was second, Martin was third and retook the championship lead. Ogura kept hold of the fourth place position completing Aprilia’s first one-two-three-four, Acosta was fifth.
