Jorge Martin is victorious in Germany in a dominant display

Francesco Bagnaia started the shortest sprint race of the season from pole position, his third pole in succession. Luca Marini still nursing his hand injury was second with Jack Miller in third. Marc Marquez had suffered four crashes and would start the race from seventh place.

The lights went out and it was Miller who took the holeshot but Pecco Bagnaia held it around the outside and took the lead back at turn two, Marquez moved up to fifth. Miller attacked Pecco into turn eight but the Ducati was able to retake the place.

Jorge Martin then took advantage and outbraked Miller into turn 12. Pecco had a big snap at turn one and ran wide, Martin followed him and Miller was able to take the lead. Brad Binder also overtook Marquez into turn one.

Marquez ran wide on lap three at turn one and was down to seventh with Johann Zarco right beind him, he also had a track limits warning.

Pecco outdrived Miller down the waterfall to take the lead from the Red Bull KTM once again. Miller again attacked Pecco at turn one and made it stick, the Australian was refusing to let Pecco get into his rhythm.

It was three abreast into turn 12, Pecco went to the right, Martin to the left and Martin took the lead for the first time and immediately pulled a 0.5 second gap.

On lap five Pecco overtook Miller down into turn 12 for the third time of the race and held off any attack into turn one.

Martin was lapping consistently in the high 1:20s and was pulling away from Pecco, Marc Marquez had dropped to tenth place.

Marini was proving how strong he was on the brakes, holding off Binder into turn 12. Binder tried to overtake into turn one but ran wide and the Italian moved back into fourth.

The South African tried again on lap 14, but it was deja vu for the Red Bull KTM rider. Zarco was in the perfect view for the battle he could not find a way through on Binder.

Zarco had a great run through turn ten and went for the move at turn 11 and they made contact and the Frenchman was through into fifth.

Jorge Martin took a dominant victory, his second sprint win of the year. Pecco Bagnaia brought home second with Jack Miller in third. Marc Marquez finished in 11th with last years Grand Prix winner Fabio Quartararo in 13th.
