MotoGP: Andrea Dovizioso “Not able to find a good feeling” with the 2020 rear tyre

By Short Shift News
Andrea Dovizioso has once again battled through rear tyre issues on the first day of the San Marino Grand Prix.
Andrea Dovizioso started the day not being able to make use of the first free practice session to its full extent, suffering an unknown issue at the start of the opening day of practice at the Rimini based circuit. The Italian has struggled to get to grips with the 2020 Michelin rear tyre.
Dovizioso, when speaking to the press admitted that he “Wasn’t able to take advantage of the full session” and also “wasn’t able to find a good feeling with the bike”. Unfortunately, the rear tyre woes returned for the Ducati rider, which he had hoped he would’ve seen the last of after suffering in the heat of the AndalucianGP and the Czech Grand Prix.
Recently the Misano circuit has been resurfaced to the liking of some riders and the disliking of others. Dovizioso explained that “There is a lot of grip but also several bumps” he also proceeded to label this as a reason he could not get to grips with the bike during Friday’s two 45-minute sessions.
Dovizioso ended the day in the overall classification, 11th, meaning if he is not able to solve issues with the bike for tomorrow morning’s third free practice, he may have to venture through Qualifying 1, which in recent races has proven to be a difficult task for the Italian.
After evaluating the day, Dovizioso stated it would be “Crucial.” to solve the issues with the bikes to then find “Positive sensations again.” and “Focus on the final details for the race.”
