BSB: Can The Reigning Bennetts British Superbike Champion Turn His Season Back To Winning Ways At Brands Hatch?
By Dawn Hammersley
Josh Brookes Will Be Looking To Make An Impact At Brands Hatch And Get Back On The Podium.
Australian rider and the 2020 Bennetts British Superbike Champion has not had the start to his 2021 season that he and all of his fans expected, he has yet to get a podium finish, therefore not as yet having any all-important podium credits, which are essential once you get to the Show Down part of the season.
Josh is currently in 11th place in the championship standings, with 38 points, his best race finish so far is sixth place, which was at Oulton Park in the third race of the opening round. At Knockhill Josh didn’t get inside the top ten in any of the three races, his best place finish was in race one, finishing in tenth place. Whilst speaking on the grid Josh doesn’t seem to know if it’s him or his set-up of the Ducati Machinery.

“I’m obviously disappointed with how Knockhill went and embarrassed to be that far back with the number one plate. It’s not natural, and it’s not normal for me to be in those positions and I’m in a bit of shock to be honest.
“The bike didn’t feel right from the moment we rolled it out the truck and it doesn’t matter what we have done, the feeling has been the same. I’ve had bad races in the past but not so many in a row like we’ve had so far this season. I’ve always been able to turn it round and end the weekend on a positive note, but that wasn’t the case at Knockhill. But we won’t give in; I’ll work with my team to sort what we need to.”
Can the two-time Bennetts British Superbike Champion turn his season around at the Kent Circuit and once again be the Monster Energy King Of Brands?
