By Dawn Hammersley
Danny Buchan joins Andrew Irwin in the all-new SYNETIQ BMW MOTORRAD Team for their Championship charge for 2021 riding the new M 1000 RR.
Former Kawasaki rider 27-year-old Danny Buchan has switched teams and manufacturer for the 2021 BSB season. As a previous BSB race winner and double National Superstock 1000 Champion, Danny is excited to be switching teams and riding the All-New M 1000 RR. The Essex rider now feels like it was time to make a change for his 2021 title hopes.
Buchan is relishing riding alongside Irishman Andrew Irwin and working with a new team and crew; he aims to be at the sharp end from the start of the 2021 season! It was the success of the TAS Racing Team over the last 20 years that made the decision easy for Buchan to change teams and is looking forward to testing the bike next year.
SYNETIQ BMW team owner Phillip Neill has known Danny for a long time, meaning there is a lot of mutual respect between the two, Danny’s enthusiasm to join the team and ride the new M 1000 RR was extremely motivated, making him an obvious choice to sign the Essex rider. Phillip believes with Danny and Andrew on board the race-bred M 1000 RR they are a perfect combination to help the BMW team achieve championship success for the 2021 season.
Scott Grimsdall, BMW Motorrad National Marketing PR Manager, is very excited to have both new riders in the team, describing the pair as a formidable rider line-up for the new M 1000 RR, Danny is proven race winner and showdown challenger and the team are excited to see what results he will bring them for the 2021 BSB campaign.
