
BSB: FHO Racing BMW’s Peter Hickman Tops Free Practice One At Cadwell Park.

Home Round Rider Peter Hickman Leads The Way In The First Session Of The Day At Cadwell Park.
We are at the half-way stage of the 2021 season, round six of the Bennetts British Superbikes sees the the Superbike and support classes at the Lincolnshire circuit of Cadwell Park. The Superbike Class had an afternoon testing session at the circuit yesterday, the British weather wasn’t the best for the session. RICH Energy OMG BMW’s Kyle Ryde had a crash towards the end of the session and unfortunately is out of racing action this weekend due to a broken heel, we wish Kyle a speedy recovery, James Hillier will be replacing Kyle this weekend.
As the first Free Practice Session of the day got under-way, the weather was cloudy but dry. There was a new face in the British Superbike Class, Buildbase Suzuki have Superstock rider Tim Neave standing in for the injured Danny Kent. FS-3 riders Rory Skinner and Lee Jackson led the way at the start of the session. Ducati’s Tommy Bridewell topped the timing sheets after completing five laps.
At the half-way stage of the session it was VisionTrack Ducati’s Christian Iddon in first place, team-mate Josh Brookes was in a strong fourth place. Honda’s Glenn Irwin was in second place, Glenn is definitely improving his pace as we hit the half-way stage of the season.
Championship leader McAMS Yamaha’s Jason O’Halloran was in 11th place, team-mate Tarran Mackenzie was in 18th place, both riders were in the pits making changes to their machinery. With 16 minutes remaining in the session Lee Jackson was in first place, there was just 0.013s between Jackson and second place man Iddon.
After completing 12 laps FHO Racing BMW’s Peter Hickman went top, and that’s how the session ended, Hickman in first, Josh Brookes was in second place, Kawasaki’s Ryan Vickers in third place, Tommy Bridewell in fourth, Jason O’Halloran in fifth, BMW’s Andrew Irwin rounded out the top ten.

Will we see the reigning British Superbike Champion Josh Brookes get back to his winning-ways this weekend?
