Jason O’Halloran Takes His First Pole Position Of The 2022 Season.
The Bennetts British Superbike Championship are at the iconic Midlands circuit of Donington Park, the national layout is being used for this round. The regaining British Superbike champion Tarran Mackenzie has been declared fit to compete this weekend. Buildbase Suzuki’s Danny Kent is not taking any further part in the weekend’s proceedings due to a crash in Free Practice three this morning, the Tetbury rider suffered a concussion.
MCE Ducati riders Josh Brookes and Tom Sykes both had to go through Q1 as did SYNETIQ BMW’s Danny Buchan and McAMS Yamaha’s Tarran Mackenzie.
Honda’s Tom Neave and PR Racing’s Dan Jones both crashed in the first part of the Q1 session. MCE Ducati rider’s Josh Brookes and Tom Sykes were in first and second place respectively with five minutes remaining to the session. Tarran Mackenzie was just inside the top six in fifth place.
Brookes, Sykes, Ryan Vickers, Storm Stacey, Mackenzie and Chrissy Rouse all got through to Q2. Luke Mossey crashed at Craner Curves with just one minute remaining in the Q1 session.
In the opening minutes to the session Bradley Ray was leading the way with Jason O’Halloran in second place. Andrew Irwin crashed out at the exit of Mcleans forcing his brother Glenn Irwin off the track.
At the checkered flag Jason O’Halloran took his first pole position of the 2022 season, Brad Ray finished in second place, with his team-mate Kyle Ryde in third place, it’s a Yamaha front row lock out!
