Quiles continues to dominate the Moto3 Championship taking his sixth victory of the 2026 season

The Cathedral of Speed circuit of Assen was host to round ten of the Moto3 championship. The weather at the Dutch circuit has been perfect all weekend. Championship leader Max Quiles was on pole position, GRYD Racing’s Joel Kelso qualified in second place, with Red Bull KTM Ajo’s Brian Uriarte rounding out the front row of the grid.

Lights out for the Tissot Grand Prix of the Netherlands, Quiles got the holeshot into turn one. A few aggressive moves were made but all the riders were safely through the first few corners.

Quiles got pushed back to third place as David Almansa took control of the race. Alvaro Carpe crashed causing Adrian Cruces to run off track. Cormac Buchanan also crashed out on the same lap.

After three laps the front group consisted of eight riders, from Almansa to Uriarte. Veda Pratama was pilling on the pressure to lead the race.

Casey O’Gorman was the fastest man on track in 11th place, Eddie O’Shea and Scott Ogden were running just outside the top 15, in the second group of riders.

Previous race winner Hakim Danish was in the mix running in third place. On lap eight Pratama crashed out. Joel Kelso was handed a penalty for track limits, the Australian was in the leading group.

At the half way point of the race Jesus Rios joined the party running in second place, just behind Quiles. The riders behind Quiles were battling for positions which enabled Quiles to make a slight break out at the front.

With five laps to go Almansa was with Quiles, Danish was 0.5s behind in third place. A few laps later Marco Morelli was leading the second group taking third place from Danish.

Last lap time, Quiles was leading from Almansa, there was nothing between the leading duo, but it just looked as though Quiles had the upper hand.

Quiles kept hold of the lead to take the victory, Almansa was second, Morelli finished in third place, Peronne was fourth, with Rico salmela finishing in fifth place.
