SSP: Mar-Train Racing And Jack Kennedy Bring The Heat With Maximum Points At Thruxton.
By Dawn Hammersley
Jack Kennedy Fights Off His Competitors To Do The Double At Thruxton.
During Saturdays Sprint Race, the Dubliner had a tight battle with Kovara Projects/RS Racing One’s GP rider Jack Scott and was made to work for the number one spot. With three laps remaining Kennedy had a slight lead of just 0.110 seconds but on the final lap, Scott out-braked Kennedy on the breaks into the final chicane to take the overall win.
Sundays Race two saw positions changing rapidly with the race win open to anyone, Kennedy went from first to third behind Jack Scott and Appleyard Macadam’s Bradley Perie. However, it didn’t take the reigning Supersport champion long to catch up and following a tight battle, took the win.

We had a great sprint race yesterday, I managed to break away from the Supersport guys but I could not get rid of Jack Scott in the GP2 class. I really had a battle on my hands. I thought I had done enough and braked late enough into the last corner but he came up the inside and ran me wide – something I haven’t been used to in the last few races!
Going into today I was ready to race but I didn’t want to risk too much as winning the Superport Championship is the main goal. I tried to plan to be behind Jack Scott and on the final lap I managed to line up a nice slip stream and get him back on the same final corner where he got me in race one.
I am delighted to be coming away with maximum Supersport points, big thanks to Mar-Train Yamaha and the team – we had a great weekend as usual.
Tim Martin – Team Owner
Yet again a fantastic weekend for the team. We achieved pole position by a good margin and two race wins. We had a brilliant weekend of racing. Thruxton is a circuit that always makes for great racing.
The next round for Jack and the Mar-Train Racing Team is Cadwell Park on 27-29 August.
