
Moto2: Pedro Acosta Takes His Second Victory Of 2022 On Home Soil.

Pedro Acosta Wins The Moto2 Race At Aragon, After a Battle For The Victory With Aron Canet.
A dramatic start to the Moto2 race, Alonso Lopez crashed on the first lap, Marcel Schrotter also crashed on the first lap. Albert Arenas crashed a lap later at turn 12 as did Manuel Gonzalez and Jeremy Alcoba.
Augusto Fernandez lead the race with Pedro Acosta, Aron Canet and Tony Arbolino in tow.
Zonta Van Den Goorbergh crashed at the reverse corkscrew causing parts of the gravel to go onto the racing line. This impacted Acosta as he took a lot of caution through the stones which allowed Canet back through.
Acosta was able to re-pass Canet a lap later and set his sights firmly on his team-mate to try and take his second victory of the season.
Pedro Acosta took the lead with 11 laps to go, Arbolino and Canet were battling for third place, Jake Dixon was slightly off the pace in fifth place.
Jake Dixon crashed out at turn 12 on the final lap after trying to stay with Arbolino and Ogura who were battling for fourth place.
Pedro Acosta crossed the line to take his second Moto2 victory, Canet finished in second place, with Augusto Fernandez finishing in third place.
Ai Ogura managed to get the better of Arbolino to take fourth place and minimise the damage in the championship.

Augusto Fernandez is leading the championship by just seven points from Ai Ogura.
