Kyle Ryde holds off Tommy Bridewell to take his second victory of the round as his team-mate Ryan Vickers crashes out.
For the final installment of racing action for the Bennetts British Superbike class at Cadwell Park, Charlie Nesbitt was on pole position, Kyle Ryde lined up in second place with team-mate Ryan Vickers rounding out the front row of the grid. Jason O’Halloran made the decision to withdraw from race three.
Lights out as Kyle Ryde lead the pack of BSB riders into Coppice, Glenn Irwin was ahead of Tommy Bridewell in fifth place. Nesbitt was holding off Vickers for second place.
There was contact between Vickers and Nesbitt, both riders stayed upright, Charlie lost a position and was now in third place. Vickers meant business as he passed his team-mate to take control of the race.
Disaster for Ryan, he was flying at the front when he lost the front end at Coppice on lap three, not a good weekend Vickers!
The leading five riders pulled away from the rest of the field, ex team-mates Irwin and Bridewell were dicing it out for third place, these have had a great weekend battling it out for vital positions.
Lee Jackson passed Irwin at Mansfield for fifth place, what a great weekend the home town rider Jackson was having. Lee’s team-mate was in second place until lap eight, Bridewell passed the young MasterMac rider to take second place.
Jackson passed his team-mate on lap 11, Lee was now hunting down fellow Honda man Tommy. The gap was coming down between the race leader Ryde and second placed man Bridewell with seven laps remaining to the final race of the weekend.
Josh Brookes was riding a lonely race in sixth place, behind the FHO rider was Leon Haslam, Christian Iddon and Peter Hickman all battling it out for seventh place.
With just two laps to go, Bridewell was sizing up a move on Kyle for first place. Could the OMG rider hold off Bridewell?
Kyle kept his cool and brought home his Yamaha R1 in first place to take his second victory of the weekend, winning the King of the Mountain trophy too! Bridewell was second with Lee Jackson taking the final podium spot in third place, Nesbitt crossed the line in fourth place, just ahead of Glenn Irwin.
