
WSSP: Adrian Huertas takes Pole Position.

Championship leader Adrian Huertas secured his fifth pole position of the season and will head the grid in today’s opening race at Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours.
The Spaniard dominated the session from the get-go and set a new lap record with over 30 minutes of the session remaining (1’39.793s) before improving further in the final minutes of the session to set an eventual pole-time of (1’39.705s) 2017 Supersport World Champion Lucas Mahias recorded his best qualifying result of the season infront of his homecrowd and lines up second on the grid, Spain’s Jorge Navarro claimed his first front row start of the season in third place and will be looking to add to the podium he achieved this season at Donington Park in July.
The second row of the grid will be an all Italian affair with Huertas’ closest challenger in the championship, Yari Montella starting forth ahead of Stefano Manzi and Federico Caricasulo. Valentin Debise ensured two French riders would start in the top seven and heads row three infront of British rider Tom Booth-Amos who is well placed for race 1 in eighth place, completing the third row is Marcel Schroetter.
Finish rider Niki Tuuli completes the top ten,while the second of the two Brits John Mcphee could only manage 17th in a difficult afternoon for the Scotsman.
In addition to Mahias and Debise, a further Four French riders will race in their home grand prix competing as wildcards with former series regular Corentin Perolari qualifying the highestin 14th place. Enzo De La Vega competed in 35 World Supersport300 races between 2017-2020 and will be targeting points in his World Supersport debut from 21st on the grid.
Guillaume Antiga is competing in his second race weekend in World Supersport and will be aiming to improve on his 19th place finish he achieved at Magny-Cours in 2016 from 23rd on the grid. The final wildcard on the grid, The final wild-card Alexy Negrier will make his debut from 31st on the grid, one place ahead of another debutant, Belgian, Luca de Vleeschauwer who is replacing the injured Lorenzo Baldassarri. Former Moto3 race winner Khairul Idham Bin Pawi completes the grid in 33rd place after failing to set a lap in qualifying due to an early crash.
