
MotoGP: Pecco Bagnaia Clinches Emilia-Romagna Tissot Sprint Ahead of Jorge Martin

Pecco Bagnaia takes his fourth Tissot Sprint victory of the season in-front of his home crowd
Francesco Bagnaia started from pole position after breaking the lap record, Jorge Martin started in second place after also going under the lap record with Enea Bastianini making it a Ducati GP24 front row. Brad Binder was fourth ahead of Pedro Acosta and Marco Bezzecchi with Marc Marquez starting in seventh.
The lights went out and it was Martin who took the lead into turn one ahead of Binder and Bagnaia. Pecco and Bastianini blasted passed the KTM of Binder on the exit of turn six to move into second and third. Marc Marquez passed Binder into Curvone for fourth.
On lap two Acosta slipped up the inside of Binder at turn ten for fifth place.
By lap seven Bagnaia closed up to the rear of Martin but made a small mistake at turn five, losing the front and wasn’t in overtaking range.
Martin ran wide at turn 13 as Pecco closed right in at Curvone and Bagnaia took the lead into turn 14 with five laps remianing.
Pecco Bagnaia controlled the pace brilliantly to take his fourth Tissot Sprint victory of the season, Martin took second place with Bastianini in third. Marc Marquez finished in fourth with Acosta rounded out the top five in fifth.
Martin leads the championship by four points ahead of Bagnaia into the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix.
