
WSBK: Nicolo Bulega Takes the Tissot Superpole Race Victory

Another Ducati dominated race at Assen, with Bulega setting record lap times
Once again it was a Ducati front row for the start of the Tissot Superpole race at the Cathedral of Speed. Yesterday’s race one victor Nicolo Bulega was on pole position, followed by his Spanish ream-mate Iker Lecuona, ELF Marc VDS Racing Team’s Sam Lowes rounded out the front row of the grid.
Bulega got the holeshot into turn one, Sam got between the two team-mates of Bulega and Lecuona. Alvaro Bautista was cutting through the order in fifth place. Alex Lowes was also making his way through the field getting just behind his brother Sam in fourth place.
Tommy Bridewell was in 12th place, another strong ride from the British rider. Bulega was setting a hot pace out at the front.
Remy Gardner was inside the top ten running in ninth place. Unfortunately Taz Makenzie crashed out at turn three, he was up and ok.
Sam was on the move catching Lecuona with five laps to go. Rain started to fall in some of the sectors at the Assen circuit.
Danilo Petrucci was top BMW rider in sixth place, team-mate Miguel Oliveira was in 12th place. Bautista passed Alex Lowes to take the fourth place with just two laps remaining to the race.
Bulega crossed the line once again to take the victory, Iker held onto second place, Sam was third, Bautista was fourth, with Alex finishing in fifth place.
