Jorge Martin takes his second Tissot Sprint victory of the season with Pecco Bagnaia taking a hat-trick of second places as Marc Marquez has a big crash

It was hot and sunny conditions in Le Mans as the riders lined up for Tissot Sprint. Francesco Bagnaia started from his first pole and front row of 2026, it was a factory Ducati one-two with Marc Marquez in second who broke the lap record during Q1 and championship leader Marco Bezzecchi rounded out the front row. Fabio Di Giannantonio headed the second row despite having a bee during his helmet on his qualifying lap, Pedro Acosta was fifth with home rider Fabio Quartararo in sixth.

The lights went out and Bezzecchi got the holeshot into turn one but his teammate Jorge Martin went around the outside of everyone at turn three to take the lead from the front row. Bagnaia was third ahead of Quartararo and Marc Marquez.

Acosta sat up Joan Mir at the penultimate corner to move into sixth place. Di Giannantonio was down in 13th after a poor start.

Luca Marini crashed out at turn six on lap two. Acosta overtook Marquez at turn 11. Mir then went through on Marquez at turn three.

Bezzecchi went wide at turn seven allowing Pecco Bagnaia to move into second place, the gap to Martin at the front was one second.

Di Giannantonio lost the front at turn three and was out of the running, the crash caused his teammate Franky Morbidelli to take evasive action.

Acosta picked off another place as he block passed Quartararo at turn 13 to take fourth place.

Enea Bastianini was the next faller as he lost the front at turn 13.

Martin was keeping the gap at one second to Bagnaia as Morbidelli crashed out at turn 13, the same crash as Bastianini.

Ai Ogura was making a late charge as he overtook Alex Marquez at turn three on the penultimate lap, his teammate Raul Fernandez who was running in tenth crashed out at turn seven. Marc Marquez had a big highside at turn 13 on the penultimate lap.

Jorge Martin made it three sprint victories out of the three he has competed in at Le Mans, Bagnaia made it a hat-trick of second places in the spint with Bezzecchi bringing his Aprilia to his first sprint podium of the season in third. Acosta was fourth with Quartararo taking an impressive fifth place at home as he held off Mir in sixth.
