
WSBK: Nicolo Bulega Does the Treble at Aragon

Bulega wins comfortably once again to extend his champion lead ahead of his team-mate
The final installment of WorldSBK action from Aragon, double race victor Bulega was on pole position, team-mate Iker Lecuona was in second place on the grid, with Britain’s sam Lowes lining up in third place.
Lights out for the final time for round six of the WSBK championship, Bulega got the holeshot into turn one, two riders crashed at turn one, Xavi Vierge and Lorenzo Baldasarri.
Alex Lowes was in fourth place, chasing down his brother Sam for third place. Lecuona was piling on the pressure once again to his team-mate. Tommy Bridewell was running in a solid eighth place, a really positive round for the British rider.
Hannes Soomer crashed out at turn 15, the BMW stand in rider was up and remounted to rejoin the race.
With 15 laps to go Bulega was stretching out his lead from Lecuona, with over a second lead. Sam put some distance between himself and Alex Lowes to keep hold of the third place.
Alvaro Bautista was having a solid ride, the Spanish rider was climbing up the order in seventh place, Bautista’s team-mate Yari Montella crashed out at the Reverse Corkscrew.
Garrett Gerloff was having a strong ride, passing Bautista for sixth place, the Kawasaki rider had Bimota’s Axel Bassani next in his sight.
With two laps to go Lecuona was closing in on Bulega, but was time running out for Iker? Bulega responded and upped his pace for the final lap.
Bulega once again crossed the line to take the treble, Lecuona took second place, Sam was third with brother Alex finishing in fourth place, Bassani was fifth.
