We take a look at the opening two rounds of the ZYN British Superbike Championship

The ZYN British Superbike 2026 season championship got underway at the Cheshire circuit of Oulton Park. The May Bank Holiday certainly pulled the BSB crowds in for their much anticipated fix of bike racing action.

Round One
Nitrous Competitions Racing’s reigning champion Kyle Ryde got the first pole position of the 2026 season, with McCams Yamaha’s Bradley Ray and Moto Rapido’s Leon Haslam for company on the front row of the grid.

Race one finished with Ducati taking four of the top five spots, Ryde took the first honors followed by Haslam and Ray.

Race two once again was a top five finish for Ducati and McAMS Yamaha’s Ray, Ryde got his second victory of the weekend, Haslam finished in second place, with Ray again taking the final spot in third place.

Race three finished a carbon copy of race two, with Ryde Haslam and Ray finishing once again on the podium. Ryde’s team-mate Glenn Irwin finished in fifth place, a much better race for the Northern Irish rider. AJN steelstock Bimota’s Max Cook had a very solid round finishing inside the top seven in all-three races.

Ryde left round one at Oulton park leading the championship on 54 points from Leon Haslam, who was on 48 points, Ray was in third place on 42 points, Scott Redding was in fourth place, followed by Staffordshire’s Storm Stacey.

Round Two
Round two of the championship was at the iconic circuit of Donington Park. Qualifying got underway with once again Kyle showing his dominance getting his second pole position of the 2026 season. Joining Ryde on the front row of the grid was Max Cook and Scott Redding.

Race one saw a different rider taking the honors as Scott Redding took the first victory of round two taking advantage of late rainfall and was leading when the red flag was brought out. Cook finished in a very solid second place, Max is really starting to shine on his 2026 Bimota machinery. Third place went reigning champion Ryde.

Race two saw Ryde take back control of proceedings, taking his first win of round two, Redding finished in second place, with Cook once again finishing on the podium. Ray and Haslam finished just outside the podium finishing spots.

Race three was a carbon copy of race two, with Ryde taking the win followed by Redding and Cook. Ray and Haslam missing out on a podium finish in fourth and fifth place respectively. Lee Jackson and Christian Iddon crashed out together, resulting in Jackson sustaining a foot injury.

As round two came to an end Ryde was leading the championship standings on 104 points, Redding was in second place on 85 points, Haslam was in third place on 82 points.

Next up round three of the ZYN British Superbike championship at Knockhill on 19/20/21 June. One thing is for certain the Fife circuit always gives us thrilling close racing, will we see a different rider on the top step of the podium? Will Ryde leave Knockhill top of the standings? All will be revealed in just over two weeks time.
