
MotoGP: Marc Marquez Completes Perfect Weekend with Thai Grand Prix Victory

It was the dream opening weekend in red for Marc Marquez winning the Thai Grand Prix after some issues
Marc Marquez looked to take a maximum 37 points after his dominant Tissot Sprint victory as he started the Thai Grand Prix from pole position. His brother Alex Marquez started in second with Francesco Bagnaia in third. Jack Miller started from fourth and hoped to rectify his DNF from the sprint. Ai Ogura had an incredible debut in the MotoGP class finishing fourth and following Bagnaia for all 13 laps gaining some important knowledge, Pedro Acosta started in sixth with Franky Morbidelli starting in ninth after a three-grid place penalty for impeding Bagnaia in Practice.
The lights went out and it was Marc who took the holeshot into turn one with Pecco Bagnaia in second with Alex Marquez in third and Ogura in fourth.
Bagnaia had a moment on the change of direction from turn six to seven and Marquez moved into second. Miller passed Ogura but the Japanese rider took fourth place back. Morbidelli then passed the Australian at turn five and then Miller proceeded to trade places with Raul Fernandez.
On lap four Pedro Acosta crashed out of ninth place at turn one with the Spaniard rejoining the race, meanwhile Morbidelli passed Ogura at turn three for fourth.
On lap seven Marc Marquez slowed on the exit of turn three and Alex Marquez moved into the lead.
On lap 15 Joan Mir was doing an incredible job on the HRC Castrol Honda in seventh place, but the 2020 World Champion lost the front at the final corner.
Marco Bezzecchi who had inherited seventh from Mir then passed Miller at turn three on lap 17 for sixth place.
Raul Fernandez and Brad Binder were battling for tenth place swapping places at turn three with Fernandez coming out on top.
With four laps remaining Marc out-braked his brother into the final corner to retake the lead of the race.
Marc Marquez crossed the line to win the Thai Grand Prix to complete a perfect weekend, Alex Marquez held off Bagnaia for second. Morbidelli finished in fourth with Ogura in fifth.

Marc Marquez leads the championship with 37 points, Alex Marquez on 29 and Pecco Bagnaia on 23.
